Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to inform you that the University's main website www.hku.hk has won the "University Standard of Excellence" in the "WebAward 2014".
The WebAward Competition is the premier award recognition programme for Web developers and marketers worldwide.
Since 1997, the Web Marketing Association's annual WebAward Competition has been setting the standard of excellence for website development. Independent expert judges from around the world review sites in 96 industries, and judge them on seven criteria: design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use. Entries receive the "Standard of Excellence WebAward" when their score is above the average of their industry.
With this international award, the University's main website continues to be recognised and acclaimed for its design locally and around the world. It will also add to the other awards:
- "Best in Class award" in the Interactive Media Awards 2013 (International)
- "Silver Award" in the Communicator Awards 2014 (International)
- "Gold Award" in the Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme (2013, 2014, Hong Kong)
