Occupying Central vs. Securing Hong Kong: A Dialogue
Since inception of the social movement on January 16, 2013, much has been discussed about OC on conception and justification. Few thoughts have been given to its actual conduct and likely impact. This dialogue between the founder of OC and a China-Hong Kong security expert engages the audience in a free flowing exchange over how to conduct mass sit-in with due regard to rights of OC, welfare of the people, security of Hong Kong, and sovereignty of China. Suggestions from the audience are welcome and practical solutions will be proposed.
Date: December 23, 2013 (Monday)
Time: 1:00pm
Venue: CPD2.42, Centennial Campus, HKU
Speakers: Dr. K.C. Wong (Xavier University) and Mr. Benny T.Y. Tai (HKU)
Dr. K.C. Wong
Associate Professor Kam C. Wong, J.D. (Indiana), Ph.D. (Albany) teaches at the Department of Criminal Justice, Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio, where he once was the chairperson.
