Message from Professor Y C Richard Wong, Acting Executive Vice-President (Administration & Finance)
Dear colleagues and students,
In light of the improved road conditions around the University’s Main Campus and Centennial Campus, the resumption of most University operations will begin tomorrow, Wednesday 20 November, and offices will be open.
Please note that the campus will be open only to staff and students, and access control measures will be in effect, so please remember to carry valid UID cards for entry onto campus and at all times while on University premises.
We advise colleagues and students to use only the University’s West Gate, East Gate, Kotewall Road entrance and Lyttelton Road entrance for entry onto campus due to safety concerns.
Colleagues travelling to work on the MTR should keep in mind that only Exit B of the HKU station is open (there is no lift access from the station to the campus), and Exits A and C remain closed. You may consider disembarking at Sai Ying Pun station and walking to campus along Bonham Road.
Heads of departments and units may exercise flexibility and make special arrangements for colleagues who are not able to return to the office or arrive on time because of transportation disruptions.
HKU members who do not have a valid UID card must enter through the checkpoint at West Gate.
We will continue monitoring the situation and update you online on the University's homepage and the HKU Portal landing page.
Please continue to stay vigilant and safe.
Professor Y C Richard Wong
Acting Executive Vice-President (Administration & Finance)
