A Global Competition Law and Economics Series Conference: Competition Law and the State (English only)
2011年03月17日
The recent adoption of competition law in East and South Asia, culminating in the enactment of the Indian Competition Act and the Chinese Antimonopoly Law, marked a significant milestone in the global competition law community. The University of Hong Kong and University College London will co-host a conference to address recent developments in the region and worldwide in the area of competition regulation of state activities. Competition regulation of state activities is a particularly important issue given the extensive involvement in the economy by governments in this region. A number of panels and roundtables composed of international and local leaders in competition and regulatory law will examine these developments.
The conference will host a press conference in light of the recent development regarding the competition bill in Hong Kong. Some of the speakers of the conference will be invited to respond to arguments that have been made in the media in recent months in opposition to the bill.
