Invitation to Lectures by Professor Jerome A. Chen (柯恩), on WTO & China's Foreign Relations

China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) has been a latest concern for the world, and will have far reaching consequences to China and Hong Kong. The Faculty of Law, The University of Hong Kong, would like to invite you and/or your reporter to attend two public lectures, both presented by our distinguished speaker, Professor Jerome A. Cohen.
Speaker
Professor Jerome A. Cohen (柯恩), New York University School of Law; Senior Fellow for Asia, Council on Foreign Relations, United States. As Director of East Asian Legal Studies at Harvard Law School from 1964-79, Professor Cohen pioneered the introduction of East Asian legal systems and perspectives into American Legal curricula. He is also a world renowned international lawyer specializing in Chinese law and China's foreign relations. Recently, Professor Cohen has been active in a range of criminal and business disputes arising in mainland China and Taiwan as counsel and arbitrator.

“Will China's Legal System Satisfy WTO Demands?”
on 15 November 2001, 6:30-8:30pm, at Pacific Place Conference Centre, Level 5, One Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Hong Kong.
