World Oral Health Day is promoted each year by the FDI World Dental Federation (www.fdiworlddental.org), recognising that 90% of the world’s population will suffer from oral diseases—many of which are preventable—in their lifetime. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Healthy Smiles”. Events around the world will aim to promote cooperation between governments, health associations, and the general public, so as to work together to achieve healthier mouths and happier lives.
