HKU and CUHK hold the 11th Vice-Chancellor's Cup Soccer Match

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) beat the University of Hong Kong (HKU) by 2:1 in the annual Vice-Chancellor's Cup Soccer Match held today (April 13).
The soccer match started at around 10a.m. at HKU's Stanley Ho Sports Centre in Sandy Bay. HKU President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Mathieson and CUHK Vice-Chancellor Professor Joseph J.Y. Sung officiated at the kickoff ceremony. This was also the first time Professor Peter Mathieson joined the soccer match.
This was the eleventh time the match has been held since it was first played in 2003 to commemorate the collaboration of the two universities during the SARS ordeal. Including the game today, CUHK has won seven games, HKU has won one in 2007, and the teams have tied three times, including the 1-1 draw last year.
