HKU Faculty of Law to hold forum on “The Umbrella Movement: Unfolding the Rule of Law”

The occupy movement has raised myriads of questions about the rule of law. In the forum, speakers will explore recent controversies about civil disobedience, the decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on August 31, civil nomination and non-compliance with the court injunction.
The forum will be chaired by Professor Anselmo Reyes and speakers include:
- Professor Albert Chen (on the NPCSC decision)
- Professor Johannes Chan, SC (on the civic nomination)
- Mr Eric Cheung (on the injunction and rule of law)
- Mr Ronny Tong, SC (on civil disobedience)
- Professor Simon Young (on prosecution policy)
