“Good Start? Grow Smart! - The Science of Parenting during Early Childhood”

The Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), in support of the University’s drive to strengthen knowledge exchange, takes the initiative in knowledge sharing with the public by organising a series of education seminars for parents. The past seminars on Mathematics, English, Liberal Studies, Information Technology, sending children abroad, the ways in using voice to teach children, creative, healthy voice of children, private tutoring and parent-school partnership held since 2010 received enthusiastic response.
The Faculty will hold the 11th seminar on “Good Start? Grow Smart! - The Science of Parenting during Early Childhood” tomorrow (February 7, Saturday). In the seminar, the following issues will be discussed:
- Tiger Mom Vs Sheep Mom? Wolf Dad Vs Eagle Dad? Who are you?
- What is the most useful learning tool of brain?
- How to assist kids in learning Chinese?
- How to nurture English competence of kids?
The speakers of the topics - HKU Faculty of Education Associate Professor Dr Li Hui, Lecturers Ms Rhoda Wang and Ms Diana Lee, and Assistant Professor Dr Carrie Lau - are experts in early childhood education. They will share with parents and teachers how children learn and the science of parenting.
