Sports for ALL for children with special education needs
04 May 2016
Sports for ALL is the first community-led inclusive sports day for children with special education needs (SEN) and their friends and families. The University of Hong Kong’s Centre for Comparative and Public Law (CCPL) is one of the major organisers and founding proponents. Through this important event, the CCPL hopes to raise awareness and advocate that “All Children Have the Right to Play.” The aim is for this free event to become an annual affair.
More than a dozen public, Direct Subsidy Scheme and private international mainstream schools, special schools and sports institutions are sending not only their students but also their PE teachers, coaches and volunteers to run a round-robin of sporting activities.
With this spirit of collaboration, media representatives are cordially invited to join the opening ceremony, officiated by the HKSAR Chief Secretary Mrs. Carrie Lam, on May 7 (Saturday). Mr Fernando Cheung, member of the Legislative Council, will also present, among other dignitaries.
The activities for Sports for ALL follow immediately afterward and media are invited to stay on.
