HKU Faculty of Dentistry to hold public exhibition and talk on World Oral Health Day

The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong will organise a series of programmes for the general public to mark the World Oral Health Day (WOHD) on March 20, 2018 (Tuesday). The programmes include oral health exhibition and health talk.
WOHD Oral Health Exhibition (for the public)
The exhibition will provide the public with oral health information, brushing and flossing demonstration and quizzes (with prizes) to enhance oral health knowledge. Door souvenirs and a lucky draw will be available. The exhibition aims at empowering people to maintain a healthy mouth at all ages.

WOHD Oral Health Talk (for HKU students)
The event aims at increasing the university students’ awareness of oral health and hygiene as well as the correct way of brushing and flossing. The topics to be shared include wisdom teeth, tooth sensitivity and caries.

WOHD Oral Health Talk (for the public)
Co-organised with the Office of Yeung Hoi Wing DC Member and Hong Kong Kwun Lun Lau Residents’ Association, the Oral Health Talk will provide the public with oral health information and oral hygiene instruction. Brushing and flossing demonstration and door souvenirs will be arranged.

World Oral Health Day is the largest global awareness campaign on oral health organised by the FDI World Dental Federation (www.fdiworlddental.org) on 20 March every year. The theme of WOHD 2018 “Say Ahh: Think Mouth, Think Health” designated by the FDI World Dental Federation is to highlight the connection between oral health and general health and to improve understanding of the mouth and body connection among public.
