The Asia Global Institute (AGI) is pleased to welcome 12 outstanding individuals as this year’s AsiaGlobal Fellows. All of the fellows are well accomplished with demonstrated strong leadership potential. They are up-and-coming influencers in politics, policy-making, business and civil society.
Launched in 2017, the AsiaGlobal Fellows Program is a 13-week residential interdisciplinary leadership development initiative for mid-career professionals with a strong interest and track record in public policy. This year’s program will run from August 20 to November 16.
2018 cohort includes inspiring leaders such as Vera Kobalia (appointed as Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development at the age of 28, Georgia), Wallace Yu (formerly investment banker in London and now fund manager at China Investment Corporation, a Hong Kong native), Tegshbayar Darambazar (formerly Specialist at the Prime Minister’s Office, Mongolia), and Amit Wanchoo (a medical doctor turned into an advocate of peacemaking in Kashmir, India).
AsiaGlobal Fellows Program is directed and administered by the Asia Global Institute, a multidisciplinary research institute at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). The AsiaGlobal Fellows Program is carried out under the overall supervision of Professor Zhiwu Chen, Victor and William Fung Professor in Economics and Director of AGI at HKU. The Program Director is Mr K C Kwok, Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the Faculty & Business and Economics at HKU, and formerly Government Economist of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
