The University of Hong Kong (HKU) alumnus David Lee, co-founder and CEO of Silicon Valley start-up NEX Team, will return for a homecoming at HKU’s Main Building on November 28 (Wednesday). He will share on his journey “From HKU to Silicon Valley” with 200+ audience members, including local secondary students.
David, who grew up in a working-class family in Sham Shui Po, launched his initial start-up as a HKU student in 2003. The company was founded on the roof of the Main Building and his first clients were HKU departments.
Today, his AI-powered iPhone basketball app, HomeCourt, has been backed by NBA luminaries like Jeremy Lin, Mark Cuban and Steve Nash. On Nov 28, David will give an inspiring talk while HKU basketball players perform a live demo of HomeCourt. It may be the first time anyone has shot hoops in the historic Loke Yew Hall!
