The Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) presents the Academy for Leadership in Teacher Education (ALiTE) International Lecture Series on “Reach for Greatness: Personalisable Education for All” by Professor Yong Zhao, Foundation Distinguished Professor, School of Education, University of Kansas, USA. The lecture will be held on February 5, 2020 (Wednesday).
In this lecture, Professor Zhao will call for paradigm shift in education. He will bring extensive evidence to show that every child has both potential and need to become great. To help each and every child achieve his/her greatness, we need a different kind of education that focuses on enhancing the unique strengths and passion of each child. Education is to help each and every child discover and develop their strengths and passions with the goal to create value for others and the world. To do so, we need to make education personalisable by the child, instead of personalised for the child.
