HKU organised the HKU Vaccination Day today (July 21) at the Loke Yew Hall, where around 300 HKU students and staff members signed up to receive the COVID-19 vaccine administered by the HKU Health System via the Government’s outreach vaccination service.
Mr Patrick Nip, Secretary for the Civil Service, visited the University to learn about the administering of the vaccine. He joined HKU President Professor Xiang Zhang and the Dean of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, Professor Gabriel Leung, to show support to healthcare workers and gave words of encouragement to those taking the jab.
Professor Zhang expressed his gratitude to all those who have participated in the HKU Vaccination Day, and appealed to HKU members to get vaccinated as soon as possible to protect themselves and others.
A second dose of vaccine is scheduled for the participants on August 11.
