To enhance public understanding of oral diseases prevention, the FDI World Dental Federation designates March 20 each year as the World Oral Health Day. The theme this year is “Be Proud of Your Mouth”.

Oral health plays a key role in our daily life. Maintaining good oral health can bring positive impacts to our physical and mental well-being.  Along with the annual World Oral Health Day, the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) will organise a multilingual online quiz with an aim to engage the public for better oral hygiene knowledge. Primary and secondary school students, their families, and the general public are welcome to participate.

The event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the Faculty’s 40^th anniversary this year.

Online quiz details:
Four sections of oral health information on eating habits, teeth cleaning and oral hygiene, healthy lifestyle, and dental visits and oral check-up will be uploaded on the website on March  4, 11, 18 & 25 respectively.  

On March 25, at 12 noon HKT, a set of 10 questions on the oral health information provided will be uploaded on the website. The first 250 participants who answer all the questions correctly will receive a prize.

The questions webpage will remain open until April 1 for all those interested to attempt.

The First 10 entries who answer all the questions correctly will receive a Philips Sonicare Electric Toothbrush + a $50 Starbucks Digital Voucher

The other 240 entries will win a $50 Starbucks Digital Voucher

Result announcement: The list of winners and the correct answers to the questions will be posted on the event website on 8 April 2022

HKU Faculty of Dentistry 40^th Anniversary and Public Engagement Events
Established since 1982, the HKU Faculty of Dentistry has been the only institution in Hong Kong that provides undergraduate and postgraduate dental degrees.
