The University of Hong Kong (HKU) has achieved encouraging results in the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject. Among the 11 subjects in total, six of them have moved up in the subject rankings.
Education is ranked 5th globally. It has moved up one place from last year and continues to be HKU’s highest-ranking subject. Clinical & Health has risen to a record high of 13th place, up seven places in the subject ranking from last year.
Other subjects that achieved strong results are Law, which climbed 12 places to 24th, Arts & Humanities, which went up by two places to 30th, Life Sciences – up one place to 41st and Physical Sciences, which improved significantly by nine places to 44th.
An HKU spokesperson responded to the media and said: "The University of Hong Kong will continue to strive to provide quality education for students and to achieve excellence and innovation in teaching and learning, research and knowledge exchange. We firmly believe that the work we are undertaking to achieve the aims outlined in our vision document with the commitment to being Asia's Global University will enhance our international reputation."
Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject complies their rankings by employing performance indicators under five categories – teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and industry income.
