Speech, Language and swallowing disorders affect millions of individuals worldwide, and Hong Kong is no exception. As the demand for speech therapy services continues to rise, in the geriatric, medical and educational settings, it has become increasingly vital to ensure an adequate supply of qualified speech-language pathologists (SLPs) to meet the needs of the community. Furthermore, the provision of high-quality clinical education plays a pivotal role in equipping aspiring SLPs with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their profession.
Members of the media are invited to attend the press conference, which will shed light on the following key topics:
1. The importance of quality clinical education in shaping competent and compassionate speech therapy professionals.
2. Strategies and innovative teaching initiatives undertaken by Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology [BSc(SLP)] at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) to provide quality clinical education for students.
