HKU launches "We Share, We Care, We are HKUers" to promote student wellness
21 Dec 2023
The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) has launched the "We Share, We Care, We are HKUers" campaign to promote student wellness. Supported by HKU’s Senior Management Team, the initiative underscores the University's collective commitment to fostering a caring and supportive campus environment, with a particular focus on students' mental health.
As part of the campaign's activities, the "Cookies Giveaway" was launched last week, where Deans and Associate Deans from HKU's ten Faculties distributed delicious cookies to students at different locations on campus, engaging them in conversations in the process.
At the University's resident halls and colleges, students received "Sweet Soup" (糖水) delivered by CEDARS to provide warmth and comfort during the busy period of final assignments and assessments.
Additionally, the longstanding HKU tradition of "SuperPass Apple Giveaway" (勁過蘋果) provided students with free apples at campus eateries, reminding them of the importance of a healthy lifestyle during exams and wishing them success in their academic pursuits.
Professor Samson Tse, the Dean of Student Affairs, said: "The event went beyond offering treats. Our colleagues took the time to have meaningful dialogues with students, offering words of encouragement for their upcoming examinations. This collaborative effort demonstrates HKU's commitment to cultivating an inclusive and compassionate campus community where students' mental health is prioritised."
“This campaign highlights HKU's unwavering commitment to creating a culture of nurturing the overall wellness of its student community, while emphasizing its dedication to promoting holistic student development,” Professor Tse added.
