One of the highlights of the 90th Anniversary is a 2-day Symposium in November. World and local renowned scholars, celebrities and alumni are invited to give talks in the Symposium to share their insights in their field of specialty. There will also be a series of distinguished lectures throughout the year.
Year 2000 to 2001 also marks the silver jubilee session for the Hong Kong University Engineering Alumni Association (HKUEAA) that was established in 1975.
To celebrate this special year, HKUEAA is to launch the Graduate Mentor Scheme on February 24, 2001. The Scheme will facilitate communication and experience sharing between the Faculty, students and alumni. The Scheme matches final year undergraduates with experienced Engineering alumni mentors. Initially, Mentors will guide their assigned undergraduate Mentees, in terms of academic and career matters. The Mentor-Mentee relationship is designed to continue after graduation, and it is expected that after a few years, the Mentors and Mentees will become good friends.
