Higher Education Pavilion will point the way to future studies
08 Feb 2001
One-stop access to the latest information will be available under the same roof at the “Hong Kong Higher Education Pavilion” to be set up this month by the eight local tertiary institutions funded by the University Grants Committee.
The Pavilion is a crucial part of the “Education and Careers Expo 2001” to be held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in mid February. It is the joint effort of City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Lingnan University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Institute of Education, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and The University of Hong Kong. It aims at strengthening the understanding of higher education among the public and secondary students, and providing the latest information on tertiary institutions to help students prepare for further studies locally.
The “Higher Education Pavilion” carries the theme “Higher Education for the Future”. Visitors may expect to obtain first hand information on individual institutions' latest academic development, programme highlights, admission requirements, career prospects, campus amenities and student services. Besides, information brochures will be distributed and academic counseling will be provided on the spot.
The Pavilion will be located at the most eye-catching entrance area of the “Education and Careers Exp 2001” which will be held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wanchai on February 15 – 18, 2001. Along with the exhibition, seminar sessions of the eight tertiary institutions will be staged in Room 408 of HKCEC. The Opening Ceremony of the Expo is scheduled at 10 am on Thursday 15 February.
