The mainland undergraduate student recruitment programme is already in its third year. This year the University of Hong Kong has recruited a total of 32 undergraduate students from Tsing Hua University, Peking University, Fudan University and Nanjing University. To welcome them and provide them with an opportunity to meet with the mainland graduates of the last two years, the University of Hong Kong will hold a Welcoming Party on September 6, 2001. Professor Ian Davies, the Vice-Chancellor will give a welcoming address to the students at the event.
Details of the Welcoming Party are as follows:
Date: September 6, 2001 (Thursday)
Time: 3:30pm
Venue: Staff Canteen, Senior Common Room, 14/F, K. K. Leung Building, the University of Hong Kong
Besides the newly arrived third batch students, the first and second batch mainland undergraduate students will also have the chance to share with you their future aspirations and thoughts towards the new policy of allowing them to stay in Hong Kong to work.

How different is life in Hong Kong from the mainland? Does the third batch of mainland undergraduate students have different thoughts about living and studying in Hong Kong from their seniors? Our third batch of mainland undergraduate students together with their newly made local buddies would like to share with you their thoughts and experiences during their first month in Hong Kong.
