Despite shift in the business cycle and impressions in the press, use of the Internet continues to grow rapidly. The capabilities, both hardware and software, are immense and poised for huge improvements. Furthermore, our dependence on the net is growing. This talk will discuss our expectations and plans on a number of levels, ranging from basic and width and connectivity to the higher-level abstractions of the Grid and Grid services, and how enterprises will increasingly be shaped by these technologies.
Dr Stuart Feldman is IBM's Vice President for Internet Technology, and is responsible for driving overall strategies relating to the future of the Internet, articulating IBM's vision to key constituencies, and working with key communities involved in the future of the Internet, as well as providing thought leadership for IBM's Server Group. In support of this strategy, he manages a department that creates experimental Internet-based applications, drives a number of key Internet standards, and organizes the Extreme Blue summer program.
