The Competition began in 1996 as a forum for high school students in Canada to learn about and enjoy aspects of programming. Participants now number more than 2,500 from 250 schools across the country. This is the first time that CCC is extended to other parts of the world, with Hong Kong being the first trial site and HKU as the local organiser.
