HKU Salutes Distinguished Academics

To mark the extraordinary enthusiasm, dedication and talent of teaching and research colleagues, HKU will hold the Award Presentation Ceremony for Excellence in Teaching and Research 2005 on Thursday, November 17. This year, Professor Lap-Chee Tsui, Vice-Chancellor, will preside at the ceremony and Professor Wang Gungwu, former Vice-Chancellor and currently the Director of the East Asia Institute in the National University of Singapore, will be the Guest of Honour and will give a speech.
Ever since the early days, HKU has striven to sustain and enhance its excellence as a pre-eminent institution through outstanding teaching and world-class research. The ceremony is a remarkable occasion in which the University salutes those who work day after day for that mission.
This year, there will be altogether 12 awards from 5 major categories to be given to distinguished academics.
