Thanks to the Yam Pak Charitable Foundation, proceeds from the performance "Dream of the West Chamber" were used to set up the "HKU Culture & Humanities Fund" last year, which supports initiatives including heritage projects, research, scholarships, professorships, as well as community and school education programmes. Millions of dollars were raised as seed money and a number of projects, including "Integrate Cantonese Opera in Education" were funded.
This year, the performance of "Princess Changping" on December 9 will also help raise funds to support the education and research of culture and humanities, as well as community and school programmes.
