HKU Salutes Distinguished Academics for Teaching and Research Excellence
20 Dec 2006
To mark the extraordinary enthusiasm, dedication and talents of teaching and research colleagues, HKU will hold the Award Presentation Ceremony for Excellence in Teaching and Research 2006 on Thursday 21 December 2006. This year Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui will preside at the ceremony and Pro-Chancellor Dr. The Hon. David Kwok-Po Li will be the Guest of Honour.
At the ceremony, a total of 29 awards from 5 categories will be granted to distinguished academics.
This year, "Research Output Prize" is introduced for the first time. It aims to recognise the best research outputs in each of our 10 Faculties by honoring the author or a team of authors of a single item of research output published or created in the preceding calendar year.
Ever since the early days, HKU has striven to sustain and enhance its excellence as a pre-eminent institution through outstanding teaching and world-class research. The ceremony is a remarkable occasion in which the University salutes those who work day after day for that mission.
Media representatives are cordially invited to cover the event. The details are:
Date: Dec 21, 2006 (Thurs)
Time: 5.30pm
Venue: Rayson Huang Theatre, HKU
