Renowned Film Director Mr Gordon Chan Ka-sheung and sociologist Dr Ng Chun-hung from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) will explore the issues with secondary students this Friday at a session at HKU under the topic of "Beyond Hong Kong: Film • Culture • Industry".
The lecture is the first of the "Meeting of Minds" Lecture Series 2007. The series aims to develop, inspire and nurture secondary school students to serve our community as future leaders. Prominent HKU scholars and experts in the relevant professions will be invited to discuss in an accessible manner how academic theories can help to explain a range of social issues, and to exchange views with young people.

In the past ten years, the Hong Kong film industry has descended from its glorious peak. Today film-makers, the government and Hong Kong people in general are deeply concerned about the future of Hong Kong films.
