The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is to launch the world's first comprehensive project for Kunqu's archive, research and promotion. The Project will be headed by internationally renowned scholar Professor Pai Hsien-yung.

Launch of Research & Development Project on Kunqu at The University of Hong Kong

Kunqu, which is named as the mother of all kinds of Chinese Qu (opera), has been classified by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) as intangible world heritage since 2001.
