"Lust, Caution" Fundraising Gala Premiere to benefit HKU Culture & Humanities Fund

The "Lust, Caution" Fundraising Gala Premiere featuring Award-winning director Ang Lee's latest spy thriller will be held on the evening of this Saturday, September 22, 2007, at Palace IFC. Proceeds from the Gala will benefit "HKU Culture and Humanities Fund" earmarked for "Project for Public Culture" , a pioneering programme established by Journalism and Media Studies Centre, The University of Hong Kong (HKU).
HKU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lap-Chee Tsui, will present at the gala ceremony to thank all patrons, various parties and supporters of HKU including Ang Lee, Salvatore Ferragamo and EDKO Film Company.
"Lust, Caution" , which has won the top Golden Lion award at the Venice Film Festival, is based on a short story by revered Chinese writer, Eileen Chang. Chang studied English and Chinese at HKU during the war-torn years between 1939 and 1941. Part of the movie was shot at Loke Yew Hall and classrooms in Main Hall, HKU.
