HKU Goes Global: Inspiring World Citizenship
06 Nov 2007
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) has long committed to encourage its students to become global citizens. Growing from modest beginnings a decade ago, HKU's global development programme has experienced quantum leap in number of student-participants, countries and overseas partner-institutions involved, and diversity of programme nature and content.
To celebrate HKU's global development achievements and to thank donors whose generous support have made the global exchanges possible, HKU students are to share their experiences and benefits from international endeavours this Thursday (November 8). Such diverse exposures include exchange study programmes, voluntary services, internship, study trips and international conferences.
The event is to be officiated by Dr Victor Fung, Chairman of Council of HKU, who is a keen supporter and generous donor for global development programme. Dr Fung will also speak of the University's initiatives in further developing such opportunities for students.
