20 Nov 2007
A symposium on "Creating Resettlement Opportunities for Ex-Offenders through Employment" jointly organised by the Correctional Services Department (CSD) and The University of Hong Kong Centre for Criminology, will be held on Wednesday (November 21). The symposium will start at noon in Loke Yew Hall of HKU.
The symposium aims at calling on employers to give equal employment opportunities to rehabilitated offenders, thereby facilitating their re-integration into society as law-abiding citizens.

Intellectuals, government officials and representatives of Non-government Organisations will introduce employment support available for rehabilitated offenders, employers will talk about their experience of hiring ex-offenders, and a rehabilitated offender will share his path of rehabilitation.
You are invited to cover the symposium which is expected to last for three hours. Media representatives are requested to assemble outside Loke Yew Hall before 11:45am. Officers from CSD's Public Relations Section will be on hand to assist.
