Opening Ceremony of Exhibition "100 Years of Finnish Democracy" Cum Seminar on "The Future of Democracy"

The Faculty of Social Sciences, HKU and the Consulate General of Finland Hong Kong has co-organised an exhibition "100 Years of Finnish Democracy" and a seminar on "The Future of Democracy" on December 6, 2007 for celebrating the 90 years of independence and 100 years of democracy of Finland.
It was on December 6, 1917 that Finland declared herself independent and yet already ten years earlier Finland as the first country in the world introduced universal suffrage giving both men and women full democratic rights to vote and to run as candidates.
Members of the press are cordially invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition and the Seminar on democracy. Details are as follows:
