HKU presents Long Service Awards to 234 Staff Members
12 Feb 2008
A total of 234 staff members of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) will be honoured for their loyalty and contributions to the University in an annual ceremony to be held this Thursday (February 14). They will receive Long Service Awards presented by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui on the festive eighth day of the Year of the Rat.
Long Service Awards are presented to non-academic staff who have served the University for more than 15 years, 25 years, 35 years or 40 years. The University introduces the 35-year awards for the first time this year, in view of the societal trend that more and more young people nowadays prefer to complete their tertiary studies before joining the labour market.
This is the 34th year the University holds the Long Service Awards Presentation Ceremony to extend its appreciation to loyal colleagues and to recognize their contributions.
