The Second Information Technology in Education Study 2006 (SITES 2006): Survey Results Dissemination

The Second Information Technology in Education Study 2006 (SITES 2006) is an international comparative study of pedagogy and ICT use in education conducted under the auspices of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), focusing on how teaching and learning took place in mathematics and science classrooms in junior secondary and the role of ICT in them. The SITES 2006 is a global study covering 22 countries/education systems including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Singapore. With teachers, principals and technical persons from secondary schools as targets, the study covered over 50,000 participants and 8,700 schools around the world. The part on Hong Kong is completed by HKU and sponsored by Quality Education Fund and Microsoft.
Against this background, Professor Nancy Law and Dr. Allan Yuen, Director and Deputy Director of the Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE) at The University of Hong Kong, will present key findings from the SITES 2006 project.
