Open Standards and e-Government

A number of high-profile e-government projects have already been taking place locally and internationally. To enable success of these projects, standardization is recognized as a key factor to enable interoperability between governments, business enterprises and various organisations.
Speakers from Australia, Spain, the US and Macau will share at a symposium this Friday (May 16) at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) campus the new developments and international projects that use open standards for e-Government and electronic business.
The symposium is co-organized by Center for E-Commerce Infrastructure Development (CECID), HKU and Document Engineering Services. In recent years, CECID has been involved in a number of e-Government projects of various sectors.
