HKU Class of '83 Fundraising Walkathon - for the "First-in-the-Family" Education Fund
19 Sep 2008
To celebrate their 25th anniversary of graduation, the HKU Class of 1983 is organising a series of reunion and fundraising activities for the HKU "First-in-the-Family Education Fund (FIFE Fund)". The Fund will encourage those who are the first in their family to attend university to embrace the intellectual challenges of higher learning. It enables them to benefit from learning opportunities outside of the classroom, which are beyond their families' affordability.
Graduates of the Class of '83 would like to exemplify the act of "paying forward" by supporting the Fund. Students are expected to help advance our society upon their graduation and provide opportunities for future generations.
The Walkathon is the first event of the Class reunion activities. It will be followed by a Reunion Dinner at HKU Loke Yew Hall on Oct 26, 2008.
