CADENZA Symposium 2008: Successful Ageing

CADENZA: A Jockey Club Initiative for Seniors and the Faculty of Social Sciences of The University of Hong Kong will jointly present the ‘CADENZA Symposium 2008: Successful Ageing' on October 11-12, 2008 (Saturday - Sunday). This is the second symposium of the CADENZA project, a five-year, HK$380 million Jockey Club Initiative for Seniors designed to foster positive community attitudes toward older people and improve the quality of care and quality of life for Hong Kong elderly.
At the Symposium, 14 overseas and local renowned scholars and experts will enlighten the participants on the factors leading to successful ageing. They include Professor Ann Bowling, Health Services Research, University College of London; Professor Shah Ebrahim, Public Health, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine of University of London; Professor Helen Bartlett, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Gippsland) of Monash University in Australia; Professor Catherine Tang, Deputy Head and Director, Clinical Psychology Programme, Department of Psychology of National University of Singapore; Dr Fung Hong, Cluster Chief Executive of Hospital Authority and Professor Jean Woo, Project Director, CADENZA.
The Symposium composes of four major themes:
1) Definitions and Influence of Socioeconomic Factors, Gender and Health Service Provisions
2) An Elder Friendly Environment
3) Public Health Aspects of Population Ageing
4) Legal and Financial Aspects of Population Ageing
