Seminar: “Opportunities & Strategies of the Development of IT & Electronics Industry in Hong Kong” by Legislative Councilor Dr. Samson Tam

The HKSAR Government proposed in the Budget to set up a HKD$18 billion research fund to support high-tech industries such as IT and Electronics. In addition, the HKSAR and Guangdong governments agreed to strengthen the collaboration in the area of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and establish an "IT Free Trading Zone". In the recent Policy Address, some new initiatives on Mobile TV, CDMA, Broadband Wireless Access services were introduced. The IT and Electronics industries will play a more important role in the development of Hong Kong economy.
Ir Dr Samson TAM, Legislative Councilor (Information Constituency), will present a seminar on Opportunities & Strategies of the Development of IT & Electronics Industry in Hong Kong. Some hot issues such as how IT and Electronics industries can rebuild the damage caused by the financial crisis, how to improve our global competitiveness through the technologies development and the long-term planning and development of technology development in HK will be addressed.
