HKU presents Long Service Awards to 162 Staff Members
02 Feb 2009
At the start of the Year of the Ox, a total of 162 staff members of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) will be honoured for their loyalty and contributions to the University in an annual ceremony to be held this Wednesday (February 4). The Awards will be presented by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui.
Long Service Awards are presented to non-academic members who have served the University for more than 15 years, 25 years or 35 years. The University introduces the 35-year awards for the first time last year, in view of the societal trend that more and more young people nowadays prefer to complete their tertiary studies before joining the labour market.
This is the 35th year the University holds the Long Service Awards Presentation Ceremony to extend its appreciation to loyal colleagues and to recognize their contributions.
