The School of Modern Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Arts, Co-organizes the “Kowloon City to the World” Carnival To Reach Out to Secondary School Students in Kowloon

As part of an initiative to encourage local secondary school students to explore the world outside their classroom and embrace cultural diversity, the School of Modern Languages and Cultures and the New Asia Middle School are co-organizing a one-day carnival, "From Kowloon City to the World", at the New Asia Middle School's facilities in Kowloon City. This is the third time this event is being staged with the support of the Federation of Parent-Teacher Association for the Kowloon City District and several other secondary schools in the Kowloon City area.
This year the focus is on the School's Western language and cultural programmes, which include French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish, as well as American and European Studies. In addition to performances, games, and food tasting held throughout the day, several overseas exchange students from the University of Hong Kong will be participating in the carnival and sharing their experiences.
Director of Undergraduate Admission Professor J.A. Spinks, a Consul General of Greece, Consul of France and Vice-consul of the United States of America will attend the opening ceremony.
