HKU to Present Long Service Awards to Senior Staff

The University of Hong Kong will hold a Long Service Awards Presentation Ceremony to present awards to senior staff members tomorrow (June 23, 2009).
HKU Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui will officiate at the Long Service Awards presentation ceremony to honour the University's dedicated academic and senior administrative staff. Those to be awarded include teachers and professionals from various academic and support service departments.
Long Service Awards are presented to staff members who have served the University for more than 25 years or 35 years. The 35-year category was introduced for the first time last year, and recipients of this award this year are Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor S P Chow; Technology Support Centre Director Mr Lau Siu Hung and Registrar Mr Henry Wai.
Recipients of the 25-year service awards include Professor C M Che, Hui Wai Haan Chair of Chemistry; Professor Kathryn Cheah, Chair of Biochemistry; Professor Cheng Kai Ming, Chair of Education; Professor Nelson Chow, Henry G Leong Professor in Social Work and Social Administration; Professor Karen Lam, Rosie T T Young Professor in Endocrinology and Metabolism; and Professor David Lung, holder of UNESCO Chair in Cultural Heritage Resources Management at HKU.
This is the 16th year the University holds the Long Service Awards Presentation Ceremony for senior staff to extend its appreciation to loyal colleagues and to recognize their contributions.
