Launching of Joint School Campaign 2009-2010 “Sha-Teen Shine U Way!”

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) Shatin Integrated Social Service Centre launch its joint school campaign "Sha-Teen Shine U Way!" today (November 28) aiming to offer senior secondary school students opportunities to excel academically and to enhance their leadership skills.
Officiating at the ceremony were Ms Caran Wong Ka-Wing, District Social Welfare Officer (Sha Tin), Social Welfare Department, Dr Miranda Chan Lai-Foon, Chief Executive, HKYWCA, Professor Lap-Chee Tsui, Vice-Chancellor, HKU and principals and representatives of the 10 participatory schools in Shatin.
"Sha-Teen Shine U Way!" offers senior secondary school students a strong platform of diversified opportunities for their intellectual and personal growth, hence increasing their learning ability through different programmes.
Followed by the Opening Ceremony are talks delivered by Mr. Henry Wai, Registrar and Dr. Albert Chau, Dean of Student Affairs on "HKU and JUPAS Admissions" and "Student Life at HKU and Graduates' Employment" respectively. The campaign will also bring to students a variety of quality programmes and workshops. A carnival will be held in May 2010 to end the campaign with fun!
