Nobel Laureate Professor Roger Y. Tsien gave a Distinguished Lecture entitled "Turning Green into Gold by Harnessing Natural and Human Diversity" today (December 9) at the University of Hong Kong.
In the lecture, Professor Tsien demonstrated how diverse organisms, beautiful colours, and international collaborations contributed to scientific progress and economic value. Over 300 audience attended the talk held at the Rayson Huang Theatre.
Professor Tsien was conferred in absentia the degree of Doctor of Science, honoris causa, by the University of Hong Kong in recognition of his contributions to the fields of cell biology and neurobiology at the University's 181st Congregation on Tuesday (December 8).
