HKU will hold the Opening Ceremony of the Equal Opportunities Festival 2010

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) will hold the Opening Ceremony of the Equal Opportunities Festival 2010 on March 9 (Tuesday). Awards will be presented to winners of "making HKU an inclusive environment" proposal competition.
Mr. Lam Woon-kwong, Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission, and HKU Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President Prof. Joseph Lee, will officiate at the ceremony.
During the ceremony, renowned stand-up comedian Mr Vivek Mahbubani will deliver a speech on "the meaning of cultural diversity in a university context". The winners in the "making HKU an inclusive environment" proposal competition will also share their stories on the promotion of equal opportunities in the campus. Booths will be set up by a secondary school and NGOs to show the various aspects of cultural diversity.
