Research Agreement Signing Ceremony - Project: Establishing a Hong Kong Based Carbon Labelling Framework for Construction Materials
25 Oct 2010
Date/Time: 26th October 2010 (Tuesday), 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Venue: Convocation Room, 2/F., Main Building, The University of Hong Kong
You are cordially invited to the research agreement signing ceremony officiated by Paul K.H. TAM, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research) Professor of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Mr LEE Shing-see, Chairman of Construction Industry Council (CIC).
The HKU research project is sponsored by CIC and aims to develop a framework for labelling the carbon emitted by construction materials for use in the Hong Kong construction industry.
It is hopeful that the carbon labelling framework for construction materials, once developed, will help achieve the target of emission reduction as proposed by the government. The findings should also put Hong Kong at the forefront of sustainable development as well as accreditation service and carbon auditing.
Dr. Thomas Ng, Associate Professor of HKU Department of Civil Engineering, and Mr. Conrad Wong, Chairman of the Committee on Environment and Technology of CIC, will brief the media on details of the project after the ceremony.
