HKU Latest Research Discoveries on Human Swine Flu

While Hong Kong has entered the winter peak influenza season, recent data suggested that the influenza epidemic (mostly pandemic influenza H1N1 2009, a.k.a. human swine flu) in Hong Kong is more severe this winter. Up to now, several patients without underlying diseases have died of severe swine flu. The Infectious Diseases and Microbiology team of The University of Hong Kong Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine has been engaged in a series of studies and researches on human swine flu since its outbreak in 2009, part of the research focuses on studying the cause and treatment for severe cases. The team will introduce their latest findings in a press conference today (Feb 8) at 3:30pm. Details are listed as follows:
