HKU “Service 100” Kickoff: Over 500 primary school students invited to experience a day’s campus life

Over 500 primary school students will experience a day's university life at the University of Hong Kong tomorrow (March 12) to celebrate the University's Centenary with students, staff and alumni.
The students, coming from Primary Four to Six and various background including grassroots and ethnic minorities, will spend a day taking part in activities led by HKU student and alumni volunteers. They will attend a mini High Table at Loke Yew Hall, listening to a lecture by HKU Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Roland Chin entitled "History of Internet". They will also be taken on a campus tour, visiting the Stephen Hui Geological Museum to learn the stories of earthquakes, and join discussions and activities in tutorials led by HKU volunteers.
The event is to kick off HKU's Centenary celebration activity "Service 100", which seeks to reaffirm the University's commitment to build a better world. HKU community members will be mobilized locally as well as across the globe to engage in hundreds of community service projects worldwide.
