Education Seminar Series (4) by the Faculty of Education, HKU "Talking with Parents the Quality of 'i' Generation's Information Technology Education"

The Faculty of Education, in support of the University's drive to strengthen knowledge exchange, one of the three strategic themes of the University's Strategic Development, takes the initiative in knowledge sharing with the public by organizing a series of education seminars for parents. The past seminars on Mathematics, English and Liberal Studies held in the last year received enthusiastic response. Our Faculty will be organizing the 4th seminar "Talking with Parents the Quality of ‘i' Generation's Information Technology Education" in April 2011.
In the seminar, the following issues will be discussed:
- What are the skills our 'i' generation have?
- How can parents evaluate the standard of children's IT education?
- How can parents help children build up their IT skills?
- What kinds of curriculum school can use to help children effectively develop a positive thinking in facing the challenges arise in the 'i' era?
Speakers of the seminar include Professor Nancy Law, Associate Dean and Director of Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE), Faculty of Education, HKU; Dr Allan Yuen, Associate Professor and Deputy Director of CITE; Dr Lee Yeung, Assistant Director of CITE; Mr Li Chi Shing, Po Leung Kuk Chee Jing Yin Primary School and Miss Ng Ching Man, HKUGA College.
