HKU to announce the results of its Graduate Employment Survey 2010

A Conversation with Henry M. Paulson on "Global Economic Outlook and China US Economic Relations"
The Faculty of Business and Economics and the Hong Kong Institute of Economics and Business Strategy of the University of Hong Kong will hold an evening conversation with former Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury Mr. Henry M. Paulson, Jr. on global economic outlook and China US economic relations on April 11 (Monday). The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Victor K. Fung, Chairman of Li & Fung Group and Vice Chairman of China-United States Exchange Foundation. Mr Paulson was Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2006 to 2009. Before joining the Treasury Department, he was Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs from 1999 to 2006.

A Dialogue with World University Leaders - From Cambridge to Hong Kong
As part of the University's Centenary Celebrations, the Dialogue with World University Leaders event will bring together Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, and Professor Lap-Chee Tsui, HKU Vice-Chancellor to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing universities in the UK, in Hong Kong and around the world. The dialogue will be moderated by HKU student panelists. This will be a unique opportunity to learn from the insights and experience of two distinguished University leaders.

Managing World Cities: Sharing Evidence on Public Policy Processes
This half-day workshop will examine public policy processes in the three world cities of Hong Kong, London and New York. Presentations will focus on aspects of the policy making process and in particular the question of public engagement in this together with case studies.

HKUL Centenary Book Talk: University Life and Other Episodes
Theme Book: Memories, A Family Album

The book is a self-published book of memoirs, intended to chronicle the time and life of the Ho Family for the author's grandchildren. The family is ordinary, but the time is not. It evokes memories of childhood during the Japanese Occupation of Hong Kong, school days, university days, and the days of sovereignty transition. The author Edward Sing-tin Ho, graduate of the Hong Kong University, is an architect. He is Group Chairman of the Wong Tung Group of Companies. He has wide-ranging experiences in architectural projects in Hong Kong, the United States, and Mainland China.

HKU Concert Series: Qin Music of the Antiquity: Master Yao Gongbai
Supported by HKU's Culture and Humanities Fund, the HKU Qin Project was launched in 2009 with the theme Qin Music of the Antiquity. Master Yao Bingyan (1921-1983) began his research on the Shenqi Mipu in the 1950s, and after three decades of hard work, he deciphered over 40 qin pieces. Following in his father's footsteps, Master Yao Gongbai excels in both qin research and performance, and is particularly known for his interpretation of qin music of the antiquity. He was conferred the title "Representative Inheritor of National Intangible Cultural Heritage" by the PRC Ministry of Culture in 2008.
